Welcome to my story. I began bellydancing about 4 years ago in an adult education class. Anne Lobdell bewitched me with her vibrant attitude and endless knowledge. Anne helped me fall in love with the dance and gave me the power to embrace myself. Anne taught me many different dance methods but my body always found its way back to tribal stances. Not only did my body naturally accept the tribal stance but the energy as well. I have always enjoyed the dance more when I share it with my tribal family rather than by myself.Tribal Style is not just about the way the body moves - it is much more spiritual. Tribal Style dance can not occur without the tribal energy that radiates from all the dancers. Tribal Style Bellydance is all about the dance and the atmospere created from the interaction of the dancers. And this is why I truely love Tribal Style Bellydance. I feel apart of a family full of radiant energy.
Because of my need to always be in a community of dancers, I have never felt a real urge or need to venture out on my own. Anne thinks otherwise, and I can only hope she is right as always. Anne has urged me to intruct a beginners Oriental Dance at my local community college to further educate others about this truely wonderful dance. So March 29th, 2004 I will embark on a new chapter in my love for this dance. However, this new path does not mean that I am straying from the old path, I like to think the path is widening rather than forking apart. I will widen my experiences and still maintain my tribal family. So here is to new adventures.
