What is Tribal Fusion Bellydance
by Christine Trochesset

Tribal Fusion Bellydance has been called many things and some of them not so great, some would even say it is NOT bellydance at all; although, I would disagree.  Over the years I have learned from some of the best belly dancers in the U.S. and they have all taught the same kind of moves - be it labeled Cabaret, Rak Sharqi, Tribal, or Tribal Fusion - what it comes down to is PRESENTATION.  Maybe the best way to understand what Tribal Fusion Bellydance exactly is to share with you what some of the best dancers in the art form have to say.   You can see from the images below that Tribal Fusion Dress comes in all colors and styles - the main thing to look for is a coin bra or choli of some sort and tribal attitude.  There is also usually an abundance of ethnic jewelry. I say usually because some of the new "Urban" Tribal Fusion is very light on the jewelry.

Please click on the Dance Troupe Link to read what they have to say about Tribal Fusion and then click on the Video Links to see the different types of Tribal Fusion dance, each one is unique and special in its own way.
